Kiteboarding and Windsurfing wetsuits can help keep your warm because of cold winds and water. Other wind sports are sailing, jet skiing, and other activities in the wind and water. These wetsuits protect abrasions, harmful UV rays, and dangerous sea life. When choosing a wetsuit for a wind sport, consider the water temperature and the air temperature. If the winds are cold consider a sealed seamed wetsuit (glued and blind stitched). Kiteboarding and windsurfing wetsuits do not allow water to penetrate through the seams of the wetsuit. They also do not allow water to seep into the seams if you are being dragged or submerged so you stay warmer.

Kitesurfing & Kiteboarding Wetsuits

When choosing your new wetsuit, consider a suit that has sealed seams. If you are looking to get thermal protection from wind and cold water suits with (GBS) glued and blind stitched seams will not allow wind to come through the seams and will also keep water out of the seams. We caution purchasing wetsuits that do not have a protective laminate layer on the exterior of the suit. We have had customers purchase triathlon wetsuits that do not have nylon laminates on the suit and they end up tearing them. If you wear a smooth skin wetsuit and rub against the stand, short, rocks, or even you board, you will tear them easily. We highly recommend that your wetsuit have a nylon laminate on the external of the suit.

Kiteboarding Full Wetsuits Styles & Entry Systems

There are back zip and chest zip kitesurfing wetsuits available. The benefit of a back zip wetsuit is the longer zipper system to enter the wetsuit. The chest entry system offer more stretch along the lumbar spine because the zipper is not on the back of the wetsuit rather it runs horizontally across the chest of the wetsuit.

Kiteboarding & Windsurfing Wetsuit Springsuit Styles

Wearing a springsuit for kiteboarding or windsurfing is appropriate for warmer waters and winds. Springsuits come in short sleeve and long sleeve styles and are very popular in moderate air and water temperatures.

Sailing & Jet skiing Wetsuits are considered Wind Sport Wetsuits Too

We consider a wetsuit worn for sailing and Jet Skiing wind sports. These are activities that are similar to kiteboarding and windsurfing. You are in the wind with the possibility of also being in cold water. When choosing a wetsuit for sailing or jet skiing keep in consideration the air temperature as well as the water temperature. Also keep in mind that having a nylon laminate is recommend for these sports since you will be making contact with surfaces that could damage a wetsuit that has exposed unprotected neoprene rubber.
